This year I am launching Beginners Workshops! After many requests I have created a detailed workbook, worksheets and curated a kit perfect for you to explore the wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable art of modern calligraphy. The feedback I received from the ladies who signed up to my trial workshop was fantastic and I’m now in the process of finalising the worksheets. Numbers at the workshops will be limited so that I can give everyone personalised attention and guidance throughout the event.

Your kit which you will get to take home includes; a marbled straight penholder, nib, pot of black ink and wax seal all contained in a personalised gift bag.

Over the 2 hours of the workshop you will learn; how to prepare and care for your nib, how to use a dip pen successfully, practice writing individual letters both uppercase and lowercase, the basics of how to write words and short phrases and you will leave with the confidence to carry on in your calligraphy journey.

I am planning on running these workshops across Tayside, Perthshire, Aberdeenshire and Fife and am currently on the hunt for suitable venues. So if you know of any venues that would be interested in hosting please let me know!

The first beginners workshop will be hosted locally in a fabulous arty boutique called HAYM based in Carnoustie. Date to be confirmed but looks like it will be Feb/March.
